A refill request is simple in many cases, but the pharmacy still has to confirm that the prescription is eligible to be refilled.

Check whether refills remain

A prescription may include authorized refills, or it may require a new prescription from the prescriber before the pharmacy can dispense more medication.

Request before you run out

Submitting a refill request before the medication is gone gives the pharmacy time to review the prescription and address any issue that may require prescriber involvement.

Keep your pharmacy information accurate

Make sure the pharmacy has your current phone number and other contact information so the team can reach you if a question comes up.

Existing patients can use the Refill Request page to start a refill request. Eligibility and timing depend on the prescription and applicable requirements.

Prescription-specific questions

If you are unsure whether a refill is available, contact the pharmacy. For clinical questions about whether a medication should be continued or changed, contact your prescriber.

This article is general educational information and is not medical advice. Refill eligibility depends on the prescription, remaining refills, prescriber authorization when required, and applicable law.
